I enrolled as a business major because I knew there were businesses. I ended up in an honors program, spent a semester in Cambridge, and graduated with a theology degree I never saw coming. Then a Ph.D. in Religion. Twenty-five years on the other side of the desk followed — teaching philosophy and religious studies, then serving as provost and senior vice president, responsible for the academic direction of an entire university.
